Summer Reading Challenge

Libraries Rock!

June 8 is the kick-off is at the Hershey Recreation Center, this year. Come on over after school closes for the summer, between 11 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

This year’s summer reading program will include Book Buddies, 1, 2, Whee!, Books and Babies, Chewsy Readers, and other fun-filled programs for children and families. New this year is our Hershey Quest Scavenger Hunt at Shank Park.

Children are encouraged to participate in our Summer Quest, which provides a no-pressure and fun way to continue reading over summer vacation thereby maintaining reading skills mastered during the school year. All activities are free of charge. Incentives this year include a special library lanyard and exclusive badges.

  • Young children ages 0-3 will have a calendar of activities to be completed, available at the Children’s desk. (Coming.)
  • Register online for children ages 4-12. (Coming.)
  • Kids in grade 6-8, and teens 13-17 will have their own summer reading challenges. (Coming.)
